Career journey

Todd's professional journey in the construction and real estate development sectors is marked by a trajectory of remarkable growth and leadership. After earning a B.S. in Construction Management from the University of Washington, Todd embarked on his career with Sellen Construction Company, a leading commercial general contractor based in Seattle, WA. Over the span of 28 years at Sellen, he contributed to a diverse range of projects, including hospitals, office buildings, life science institutions, sports venues, and educational facilities. His dedication and expertise propelled him from an entry-level Project Engineer to Executive Vice President, where he was instrumental in overseeing Sellen’s Project Management Operations.

In 2017, Todd transitioned to Urban Visions, a prominent commercial real estate developer in Seattle, taking on the role of EVP of Operations. His journey continued to evolve, and in 2023, he stepped into a significant position as Sr. Operations Director at McKinstry, leading a new National Design/Build platform. Todd's career is a testament to his deep industry knowledge, leadership skills, and commitment to excellence in the construction and real estate development landscape.

My 'why' for coaching

Throughout my career, what I’ve enjoyed most about my work is the people and teams. I’ve been involved in prestigious landmark construction projects but what I remember the most fondly are the people I worked with. As I moved into management positions, I found enjoyment in mentoring and coaching others. I was and still am sought by people in the building industry to provide coaching. Coaching and mentoring people provides me with purpose and meaning while also being a passion of mine. I truly invest in people’s happiness and helping them achieve their goals.
