Amanda

Amanda’s background is as a Back-UP Trader in the financial cities of the world. Having reached her goal as a Forex manager, she took a leap of faith out of a secure position into contract work ‘floating’ the markets in the higher Corporate and International sectors working with traders, fund managers and compliance officers. Due to Nick Leesons’ ‘rogue trading’ in 1995 causing the collapse of Barings Bank, Amanda employed and headed a small team of investigators until Barings’ sale to ING for £1.

Not one to stay content with just the financial world, Amanda also pursued her teenage dream of an operatic career, which, in between financial contracts, enabled her to tour the UK, France and Spain.

Coaching Journey

Having settled down to marriage in 2001 and bringing up her daughters Amanda’s financial and singing career was put on hold. It was when Amanda took her Masters at the Birmingham Conservatoire’s School of Acting as a Voice Practitioner, she discovered that due to her ‘sabbatical’ she had acute performance anxiety and limiting beliefs, which she could trace back to a traumatic childhood.

That was the moment she realised she needed to sort herself out before she could coach anyone else. She trained in Neuro-linguistic Programming, Time-Line Therapy and attained a Hypnotherapy Diploma before she found the Priority Academy’s EFT and TFT courses. Sparking her thirst for new therapeutic modalities she went on to become an Advanced EFT Practitioner with EFT International.

My ‘why’ for Coaching

“In my experience as a coach and therapist, in general, people are not realising their true potential. This brings back what I did not know then but can now see as a common thread, which ran through the whole of my Forex and singing career - the limitations we unwittingly place on ourselves: imposter syndrome; victimisation; alcohol and substance abuse: burn-out. So far working with barristers, teachers, actors, corporate presenters, TED speakers, news reporters (amongst many other professional voice users) they all have two things in common:

Limiting Beliefs, and

Poor performance and vocal techniques.

How can respective professionals win cases in court, teach pupils, sell an idea and perform as the best version of themselves when there are embedded and debilitating limitations? And not to mention women, already struggling with being the top of the game in their job, but who are also faced with the challenges of bullying, inappropriate harassment, pregnancy, pre- and post-natal distress, motherhood, empty-nest syndrome, menopause and even ageing.“

Specific areas of Expertise

“I don’t have any as I deal with everything. Anything beyond my remit is referred to any one of my specialised team of Priority Mind Management coaches.”

Core Values for Coaching

  • Empowerment – given to clients so they can self-maintain
  • Respect – for ourselves and those we encounter
  • Compassion – being empathetic and understanding of situations
  • Trust – something earned by being open and honest
  • Attentive – always listening and hearing what is being said

Clients who would benefit from her Coaching

Amanda works with anyone on any issue whether they think it’s major or minor. Often the presenting issue is not the real problem. Bespoke coaching offers the flexibility to use any modality whether it’s just to talk and listen, or use more specialised therapy such as inner child work, hypnotherapy or even vocal coaching.

What does helping others mean to you?

“The satisfaction of knowing I’ve made a positive, empowering difference in their lives. To be able to give them the tools to self-maintain whilst leaving the door open so they can come back to me if they need to. Empowering them to be the best versions of themselves”
